North Korea

North Korea, officially known as the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), is situated in East Asia. It occupies the northern part of the Korean Peninsula and shares borders with China to the north and northwest, and with South Korea along the Korean Demilitarized Zone. Pyongyang serves as the capital and largest city of North Korea.

North Korea is distinct for its distinctive political system and its relative seclusion from the global stage. The country follows a command economy and is governed by a single-party totalitarian regime. The government exercises strict control over the dissemination of information and imposes restrictions on its citizens' activities.
